GIRALDON was a student of François Louis FRANÇAIS, LEQUIEN and Luc Olivier MERSON. He went to live in Glasgow. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1888. He was appointed professor of decorative arts at the Glasgow School of Fine Arts. He created models of furniture and jewelry, fabrics and bindings at the same time as he illustrated various works (MUSSET, VIRGILE, REGNIER)
His ease with ornamentation is reflected in the organization of his paintings.
This is the first work exhibited by GIRALDON at the Salon des Artistes Français for the 1888 Fine Arts Exhibition presented under number 1126 and entitled Le Château-Gaillard, au Petit-Andely
